Elementary Back-to-School Special

Elementary parents, here's your one-stop guide to all things related to this year's elementary back-to-school night! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ellen Rogers, the Elementary Administrative Assistant by email. We begin each school year with our Back To School Night, where your child will come meet his or her teacher, bring school supplies, and visit with friends as well. We look forward to having everyone back soon! Our schedule for Elementary Back To School Night will be as follows: Thursday, August 7, 2014 “Back to School Night”
  • 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. | New Family/Kindergarten Orientation in the Chapel
    • This will be a WELCOME meeting for new elementary parents and students and all kindergarten parents. All new students will receive the class/teacher placement on this evening. After the group meeting, Kindergarten parents will go for a meeting with their child’s teacher in the classrooms. We recommend that you DO NOT bring your Kindergarten student this night because it could be somewhat overwhelming to their gentle spirits. New students (1st-5th) will be dismissed to their child’s classroom to meet the teacher and drop off school supplies. Kindergarten Students: We have a “phase in” period of three days - August 13, 14, and 15. Your child will be assigned ONE of those days to attend a full day of school. Your child will stay home the other two days that are not designated as their “phase in” date. On Monday, August 18, all Kindergarteners will attend full time. You will receive your child’s “phase in” date during the meeting with your child’s teacher, as well as many more details concerning the start of the school year. ***Due to the amount of information given, we ask that no preschool students/siblings attend. New students in 1st – 5th grade are encouraged to attend. ***Parents should return all required forms to their child’s teacher on this night. Please visit the parent portal at parents.silverdaleba.org for all information regarding those forms.
  • 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. “Back to School Night” for all elementary students
    • Students and parents may drop by the Academy at any time from 7:00 – 8:30p.m. Elementary students (1st – 5th) and parents will receive their class/teacher placement that evening. Parents should return all required forms to their child’s teacher. Please visit the parent portal for all information regarding those forms.
***If you have already printed the Activity Fee Form off of the Parent Portal for Back to School Night, please disregard that form and print the revised form on the Parent Portal.  (The form was revised on August 5, 2014)
On Back to School Night, you should bring with you:
  • Completed Activity Fee Sheet (IMPORTANT: If you have already printed the Activity Fee Form off of the Parent Portal for Back to School Night, please disregard that form and print the revised form on the Parent Portal.  (The form was revised on August 5, 2014)
  • $20 Classroom Supply Fee
  • Optional - PTF & Booster forms (there will be a PTF table set up in the lobby during Back to School Night).  Booster forms can be turned in to your child's teacher.
OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES:
  1. For those who pre-ordered school supply kits through PTF, we have been informed by the company that the kits most likely will not arrive by Thursday evening. If this is the case, students will receive their supplies on the first day of school.
  2. Regular uniforms will be worn on the first day of school. Although a Wednesday, chapel uniforms will not be necessary until the following week.
  3. Elementary individual pictures will be Monday, August 18th for 3rd - 5th Grades and Tuesday, August 19th for K-2nd grades.
  4. For all schools, Chick-fil-A biscuits will be sold beginning August 13th.  Biscuits are $2.50 each.
