Each day begins with meaningful and consistent routines that create a rhythm that fosters connection, belonging, and spiritual growth. This intentional time includes rich group discussions, Scripture memorization, prayer, and singing. These practices nurture the whole child spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. 

Our educators understand that young children learn best through play. Instructional time includes hands-on learning centers, sensory tables, and dramatic play to reinforce daily concepts. Foundational math skills are explored through activities like shape hunts, counting objects, and pattern play. Small-group work allows teachers to meet individual academic, social, and motor needs. Short, age-appropriate, teacher-led lessons introduce or reinforce core concepts such as letters, numbers, and beginning phonics.

Four-Year-Old and Pre-K students benefit from the Heggerty Phonemic Awareness curriculum, which builds early reading skills through daily practice with sounds in spoken language.They also participate in NeuroNet, a movement-based program designed to strengthen motor coordination, attention, and cognitive skills. By pairing movement with learning, NeuroNet supports self-regulation and foundational abilities for reading, writing, and math, reinforcing our whole-child approach to early education.

We understand that young children need frequent fuel to support their energy and focus; with this in mind, students are provided a nutritious snack mid-morning and again in the afternoons. This is a time when they are encouraged to try new foods, practice independence, learn manners, and interact with peers. Often outside, you will find our classes enjoying these treats, soaking up the sun, and taking in the fresh air!

We embrace the Charlotte Mason philosophy in our Preschool classrooms, where journaling is a gentle yet purposeful practice that invites children to reflect, express, and delight in the world around them. During this quiet time, students engage in early forms of narration—drawing, scribbling, and mark-making—as they begin to capture their thoughts, experiences, and observations.

Outdoor play is an essential part of each day. Our students are intentionally given multiple opportunities to explore the outdoors - whether through unstructured time on the playground, quiet moments in our Secret Garden, or active engagement with nature-based materials. 

Through these daily outdoor experiences, children are not only refreshed but also rooted in the wonder of God’s world, forming habits of attention, appreciation, and joyful learning that last a lifetime.

After washing hands and preparing for mealtime, our preschoolers enjoy their lunches either in the comfort of their classroom or picnic-style in one of our inviting outdoor spaces. Before eating, children pause together to say a prayer of thanks, fostering gratitude and reverence for God’s provision.

Mealtime is more than just nourishment - it’s a time to practice kindness, good manners, and grow socially and emotionally. Through simple routines like waiting patiently, engaging in polite conversation, and cleaning up after themselves, children develop important life skills and a sense of community. Whether indoors or under the open sky, lunch is a peaceful, joyful time that nurtures both body and spirit.

In harmony with Charlotte Mason’s belief in honoring the natural rhythms and needs of the child, we provide a peaceful, unhurried space for rest, reflection, or quiet play, which we refer to as “Growing Time” Just as young minds need nourishment through living ideas, their bodies and hearts also need time to pause and be still. 

During this restorative time, some children nap, allowing their bodies to grow and replenish, while others engage in calm, independent activities such as looking through picture books, drawing, or quiet puzzles. These moments of stillness are not idle but deeply valuable, cultivating habits of calm, attention, and self-regulation.
