2019-2020 Head of School Annual Report

November 28, 2020

"I commit to you that we will look for ways to join God where He is at work in the lives of your children."

From Head of School Mrs. Becky Hansard's Annual Report welcome:

As I reflect on the 2019-2020 school year, I cannot do so without acknowledging the impact that the Coronavirus has left on our world. The Scriptures are filled with stories of incredible storms - storms at sea, hail storms, thunderstorms, and more. A prophecy in Jeremiah 51:42 refers to Babylon being engulfed with the sea’s “tumultuous waves.” To say this past year has been tumultuous is an understatement.

However, rather than focusing on the negative, I have decided to make an intentional mind-shift. I am making a daily choice, sometimes hourly, to reach my goal this year of relying on God for guidance while I attempt to gracefully lead our Academy through this pandemic. I am choosing to change my focus to concentrating on how He is moving amongst us on our campus. And I am happy to report that remarkable things are happening at Silverdale.

Despite the constantly changing circumstances, we celebrate that:

  • Our academics, fine arts, and athletics programs continue to grow and thrive.
  • SBA is at an all-time high for enrollment, with 1,144 students enrolled from preschool through 12th grade.
  • A spring opening date for our Silverdale Center is quickly approaching.
  • Our outdoor education program is flourishing with expanded areas and activities.
  • Most importantly, God is at work. We see students, your children, leading out and growing in the Lord.

We have had the privilege to witness God’s faithful hand on our Academy over this last year. One of my greatest joys throughout this pandemic has been seeing our fellow Seahawks flock together to support each other. We are stronger together, and together we can successfully weather the storms.

The future is bright for Silverdale Baptist Academy. I trust that God is in complete control in our world, in our country, in our homes, and on the SBA campus. I commit to you that we will look for ways to join God where He is at work in the lives of your children. We covet your prayers.

I sincerely hope you take a moment to sit back and enjoy this year in review.

We are Silverdale.
