Middle School Parent Study With Mrs. McCoy

age_of_opportunityThe Age of Opportunity middle school parent study with Mrs. McCoy will begin Wednesday, September 11. The study will be held in room 210 at 8:30am. This year marks a historic year for SBA Athletics - the addition of the first Silverdale middle and high school swim teams! Information is still streaming in, so we will keep you updated, but for now you can read Coach Eryn Farrow's letter to parents by clicking here, or contact her directly by email. The swim season runs from October through January or February.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  • Parenting By The BookAn Elementary Moms Mentoring Group led by our Elementary Principal Mrs. Kim Thompson will begin Friday, September 13th in the chapel (formerly the SMC) from 9:15am - 10:15am. We hope to see you there!
  • There will be a Speech and Hearing Clinic this coming Friday, September 13th. Please contact the Elementary Receptionist for further information. She can be reached by email or by phone at 423-892-2319, ext. 2206.
  • The Spirit Shop is now open for business daily Monday through Friday from 10:30am - 12:30pm in the upper gym inside Mrs. Givens’ office. Swing by and pick up your favorite SBA apparel! Contact the athletics office at 423-892-2319, ext. 2217 for pricing and availability.
  • The Lady Seahawks softball team is doing their "Driven To Give" fundraiser again this year in partnership with a local Lincoln dealership. Mark your calendars now for Friday, October 4th from 9am - 5pm. More information is coming soon, but you can check out their website now by clicking here.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
  • Sunday, September 8th: Hamilton County Teachers Time of Worship (led by Silverdale Baptist Church in the sanctuary) - 6:00pm
    • Any SBA faculty, staff and parents that would like to attend need to report to the athletics complex to support the Hamilton County staff during a time of prayer over those who will be worshipping in the sanctuary.
  • Thursday, September 12th: Progress Reports published
  • Friday, September 13th: School-wide Paid Dress-Down Day, benefitting the senior trip to Greece and Italy. $3 for jeans (no holes) and appropriate tops.  No hats please.  Students will give the money to the first period teachers.
  • Thursday, September 19th: Coffee With The Headmaster
  • Friday, September 20th: 9th grade girls luncheon at Mrs. Hansard's house
  • Friday, September 20th: Spirit Day
  • September 19th - October 2nd: Book Fair
  • Saturday, September 21st: Sadie Hawkins Dance (high school) @ The Chattanooga Zoo - Tickets $10 each
ATHLETICS:
  • High school students: If you're interested in competitive bowling, the high school bowling team is hosting a "Bowling Fun Day" on Thursday, September 12th starting at 3:45pm at the Holiday Bowl on Brainerd Rd. There will be pizza and drinks. Listen for more info during announcements at lunch.
  • For updated team calendars, check out the Athletics Master Calendar online. (When team schedules change at school, these calendars auto-update). If you use Google calendars personally, you can instantly add any of our athletic or team calendars to your own by clicking the "+Google Calendar" button in the lower right corner of the calendar you'd like to add.
FINE ARTS:
  • The High School Chorale and drama classes are selling fantastic coupon books to help pay for their upcoming Fine Arts trip to Disney World this December. The cost is $20. If interested, please contact Mrs. Melody Horne or see one of the students raising funds for their trip.
REMINDERS:
  • When offered at SBA, special lunches from Zaxby’s must be ordered a week prior, whereas pizza orders must be confirmed the Wednesday before. Both can be taken care of through ParentsWeb on RenWeb.
