Youth Leadership Finalists

Congratulations are in order for three of our juniors, Brooke Pickel, Jordan Sylar, and Alexander Ioannidis, for being selected by the Chattanooga Chapter of Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge to take part in the "Spirit of America Youth Leadership Program" at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania at the end of April based on outstanding essay submissions. They represent finalists from Chattanooga and North Georgia with this year's topic: "Discuss the importance of rejecting apathy in our democracy and describe a personal example for combatting apathy in your community or school." High School Beta Club Blood Drive

The high school Beta Club has rescheduled the previously iced-out blood drive with Blood Assurance. We hope you’ll consider giving and mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 28th from 8:30am – 4pm. You’ll need to sign up for a time slot before dropping by, but we have all of those details on the Parent Portal here. “We’re off to see the Wizard!”

 The high school drama department announces its spring production of The Wizard of Oz, Friday and Saturday April 24th and 25th at 6:30pm at The Colonnade Theater in Ringgold, GA. Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased at the upper school receptionist's desk while tickets are available through that Friday afternoon.

 Students: Need Volunteer Hours?

Screen Shot 2015-01-22 at 3.27.46 PMThe Silverdale Baptist Church Women’s Ministry needs two students to help with childcare at First Baptist Church downtown on Monday evenings beginning February 2nd and ending April 20th. The Women’s Ministry has partnered with Christian Women’s Job Corp, providing dinners at their weekly meetings. The CWJC is a program that helps disadvantaged women with their careers. Many women have gone through this program and learned about the life of Christ while bettering their own lives. Your help is greatly needed! This is a great opportunity for Seniors who need to reach their minimum hours needed by graduation. If you're interested, please contact Bekita Heath.

 Senior Trip Fundraiser

Blankets revised These blankets are a fundraiser for the Senior Trip. We are offering 2 kinds of material and logos. The dark green blanket is a fuzzy fleece with a white embroidered "Silverdale" and "S" stitched in one corner. The lighter green is a sweatshirt stadium blanket with  a large screened "S" surrounded by a "Silverdale" circle. Both are selling for $35.00 Please make the check out to SBA with "Sr. Trip Blanket" in the memo blank. Our seniors thank you!

    • LOST AND FOUND items will be on tables in the Elementary Lobby through tomorrow, Friday, March 27th before being donated to local charities. Please stop in and see if anything belongs to your elementary child(ren) before it's too late!
  • MIDDLE SCHOOL
    • STANDARDIZED TESTING will begin after Spring Break. The schedule for testing is:
      Wednesday, April 8     Math
      Thursday, April 9         Social Studies and Science
      Monday, April 13         Vocabulary and Listening

      (All testing times will be from 8:00 - 9:30 am)
  • HIGH SCHOOL
    • Junior Jordan Sylar was invited to write for Kevin Adams' blog "Wake My Faith." Kevin is the author of the book, The Extravagant Fool: A Faith Journey That Begins Where Common Sense Ends. You can read her beautiful post here.
    • Congressman Chuck Fleischmann invites you to attend the Annual Military Service Academy Day: Chuck Fleischmann is honored to host the Annual Military Service Academy Day on Saturday, April 11th, 2015. The official program will be from 10AM to 11AM. Representatives from the U.S. Air Force, Military Academy (West Point), Naval Academy, Marine Academy, and Coast Guard will be there to answer any questions that you may have about yours or your child's future. The program will be held at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga at the University Center - Chattanooga Room.

      • April 15, 2015 - Last day for financial aid applications.
      • May 20, 2015 - Last day for paying your tuition in full for early payment discount.
      • June 15, 2015 - Last day to withdraw your student from SBA and not be responsible for half of the remaining tuition.  If you have any questions regarding this information, please call Angie Howard at 423.892.2319, extension 2225.
