Roadmap to Return to Campus

Silverdale Baptist Academy has created the following plans to communicate Preschool vs. K-12 operating procedures during COVID-19

The hard truth is that we will be living with COVID-19 until there is an effective vaccine for the virus. Living with COVID-19 means potentially returning to normal operations with COVID-19. We must proceed carefully to ensure we do not create a surge that will send us all back home. Because of that, preschool through 12th-grade will operate in four phases, detailed below.

We will only consider movement to the next phase if there is positive improvement/stability in the metrics for 14 days. There is a probability that the Academy will experience continued outbreaks of COVID-19 that will force us to revert to earlier phases of the plan.

An LMS is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, automation, and delivery of educational courses, training programs, or learning and development programs. The learning management system concept emerged directly from e-Learning.

Metrics: A method of measuring something, or the results obtained from this. For us, this is the measurement used to determine the movement between the 4 phases of the roadmap.

On-Campus Operations: Refers to the full day-to-day operations of education in the brick and mortar classroom.

Roadmap to Return: Silverdale Baptist Academy’s guiding compass to the return to full, on-campus operations.

Synchronous Learning: Synchronous learning refers to a learning event in which a group of students are engaging in learning at the same time. Before learning technology allowed for synchronous learning environments, most online education took place through asynchronous learning methods.

Virtual Campus Operations: Refers to the full day-to-day operations of education away from the brick and mortar classroom.
