Middle and High School Athletic Event Guidelines

As of now, all fall sports are slated to take place at Silverdale Baptist Academy. This includes football, cheerleading, cross country, golf, softball, soccer, tennis and volleyball. All athletic programs will follow the policies, rules, and regulations of their governing body as it relates to conditioning, practice, training, and competition. Varsity athletics are governed by the Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association(TSSAA). Sanitizers will be available at all events.

Silverdale’s expectations in regard to athletic competitions for Field, Gym, and opposing team protocols can be found below. We will continue to monitor the TSSAA and CDC guidelines and make adjustments as needed. These guidelines are subject to change quickly.

Opposing Team Protocols
  • All game day protocols set forth by the TSSAA will be followed - these have been updated August 10, 2020, and sent to all staff with the directive to be in compliance.
  • Athletes, Coaches and Guests will be expected to wear masks while inside the facility when social distancing is not possible.
  • Upon entrance, visiting teams/ fans will be temperature checked by a Silverdale coach or employee and will not be allowed to enter if exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Tickets for events will be available through Eventbrite. A guest ticket code will be shared with coaches/AD’s 2 days before an event to be passed along to their parents.
  • Concessions will not be sold inside the gym and will have limited availability at the fieldhouse.
  • Bench, Court, Field Precautions: Team bench areas will be clearly marked with tape/paint. Players shall not exit the bench area to celebrate with teammates and/or fans. Teams are expected to practice physical distancing whenever possible, including time outs and/or additional breaks in play (i.e., halftime, quarter periods) Bench/sideline personnel will be limited to enable physical distancing.Teams are responsible for providing their own hydration
  • If the team is traveling by bus, busses will be expected to park closest to the guest facility as possible as guided by a Silverdale staff member.
  • Athletic Field Protocol for Fans
  • Athletic guests will be expected to wear masks while inside the facility.
  • Fans will be expected to maintain physical distancing (6+ feet) from other fans. 
  • Before entering, fans will be temperature checked by a Silverdale employee and be asked relevant COVID-19 questions.  A fan will not be allowed to enter if exhibiting any of the symptoms of COVID-19. 
  • Tickets for events will be available through Eventbrite. A guest ticket link will be shared with coaches/AD’s 2 days before an event to be passed along to their parents. 
  • Concessions will be available on a limited basis.
  • Children within the immediate family can attend with a parent, but will not be allowed to play in any other areas (practice field).
  • There will be 2 entrance gates and 3 exit gates to allow for distancing.

    Gym Protocol for Fans
  • Athletic Athletes guests will be expected to wear masks while inside the facility when social distancing is not possible.
  • Upon entrance, visiting teams/ fans will be temperature checked by a Silverdale coach or employee and will not be allowed to enter if exhibiting any of the symptoms of COVID-19. Entrance to the facility will be the black gates. 3 exits will be available. 
  • Tickets for events will be available through Eventbrite. A guest ticket code will be shared with coaches/AD’s 2 days before an event to be passed along to their parents. 
  • Concessions will not be sold inside the gym at this time.
  • Children within the immediate family can attend with a parent, but will not be allowed to play in any other areas (hallways).
