Learning ByDoing

Our students have so many possibilities in today’s world. It is our desire to allow them to discover their vast gifts and abilities. While we maintain our commitment to a classical style of education, we take time out of each day to explore new things, cultivate new talents and venture into the unknown, all while enjoying the fellowship of peers. These experiences allow SBA to add dimension to your student’s educational experience.

CommunityBuilding

It is no secret that Silverdale is known for their tight knit community. We foster this sense of fellowship in many ways across schools. Campus-wide activities include Grandparent's Day, Hawk Walk, Donuts with Dad, Creation Celebration, Family Fun Night, Seymour's General Store, Homecoming spirit week, and J-term -  just to name a few.

Middle schoolers engage in grade level retreats, pep-rallies, dances/socials, student/staff volleyball game, Middle School Mix Up, Dollywood trips and more!

In addition to dances/prom, pep-rallies, grade level retreats, and community outreach, High school has many fun traditions including Powder Puff, Silverdale Sisterhood, Senior celebrations, and Coffeehouse.

J-Term

J-Term (January Term) is a special week of experiential learning held right after Christmas break, designed to engage students in hands-on, interest-driven exploration outside the traditional classroom setting. In elementary school, students dive into themed units—such as science, good habits, or global cultures, while participating in fun, educational field trips that bring their studies to life. Middle and high school students have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of unique courses and experiences, both on and off campus. These may include local service projects, career exploration, creative workshops, and even travel opportunities across the country or internationally. J-Term encourages curiosity, deep learning, and personal growth by giving students a chance to discover new interests, develop real-world skills, and see learning from a fresh perspective.
