Tribes & Chap Chat

Tribes & Chap Chat

While our student body worships corporately on Tuesdays (Middle and High) and Wednesdays (Elementary) during chapel, their spiritual development is supported in many ways throughout the week.

Elementary students are fully immersed in a daily bible class, weekly chats with our Chaplin, and monthly tribe chapels. Learn more below.

Chap Chat

Each week, our beloved Elementary Chaplain, Dr. Swope, brings a sense of wonder, wisdom, and warmth to every homeroom he visits. These special moments offer students a relaxed and welcoming space to explore their faith more deeply, as Dr. Swope unpacks the message from weekly chapel and thoughtfully answers their heartfelt—and often delightfully unexpected—questions. From “Are dinosaurs real?” to “Is my doggy in Heaven?” no topic is too big or too small. With gentle guidance and genuine care, Dr. Swope meets students right where they are, helping them grow in understanding and feel seen, heard, and spiritually nurtured. These weekly visits are more than just a time for Q&A - they are an intentional investment in the hearts and minds of our youngest learners, providing consistent shepherding and spiritual connection in a way that feels both personal and meaningful.

Tribes

Our Tribes program is a special monthly tradition that brings students together for a day of service, worship, and personal growth. Each 3-5 grade class is paired with a younger K-2 class, fostering inter-grade relationships and a sense of unity. Together, students gather in the chapel for meaningful worship and guided study sessions that focus on character development and the traits of thriving individuals. Beyond worship, Tribes spend time engaging in hands-on service projects around campus—such as caring for flower beds, writing thoughtful notes to community members, and participating in a variety of other creative and purposeful activities. This initiative not only nurtures a spirit of camaraderie and compassion but also empowers older students to lead by example, mentoring their younger peers and cultivating a strong, supportive school community.

"My favorite time of being with my tribe buddy was eating all the different Greek foods with her during the History Festival."
