D-Groups & Retreats

Growth ThroughGathering

While corporate worship promotes unity on campus, discipleship groups and spiritual retreats are another layer meant to foster connection and unity for upper school students. These are just a few things that have earned Silverdale a top 1% ranking by ACSI worldwide in spiritual formation.

Discipleship Groups

Discipleship groups are a primary way we carry out several of our spiritual objectives - encouraging Christian community, aiding the formation and articulation of a Christian worldview, and learning a pattern of life guided by Scripture. Middle and High school students are assigned gender specific discipleship groups that meet with a staff member during activity period every Tuesday. High school students have the same discipleship groups for the entirety of high school allowing true accountability and friendship to take root.

Spiritual Retreats

At the start of each school year, students in grades 6–12 take part in grade-level retreats designed to strengthen connections beyond the classroom. These retreats offer a meaningful blend of fun and fellowship—filled with team-building games, shared devotionals, and time in God’s Word. It’s a chance for students to step away from the everyday routine, grow closer to their peers, and lay the foundation for lasting friendships.

Retreats are held at Fort Bluff, Camp Vesper Point, and Camp Ocoee.
