Welcome to our ChildLight Conference 2019 site. Silverdale is excited to host this year with the theme of “Timely and Timeless.” Never before has the need been greater to help families and teachers take the Charlotte Mason philosophy into our culture and to enable our children to have a timeless education but in a timely way.
If Charlotte Mason were alive today to do what she did in the 19th century, what kind of changes would she propose?
- She would advocate for experience instead of test scores to show mastery.
- She would probably have loved the “flipped classroom” concept and despised evenings filled with paperwork instead of reading and outside playing.
- She would definitely use open books instead of lecturing and images to help with retention.
- She always saw the teachers role as “guide” and not “talking head.”
If you look closely, Charlotte Mason principles and philosophies are as valuable in 2019 as they were in the 19th century. So we hope you can join us as we refresh and reboot the timeless and timely education of Charlotte Mason.

Checks should be made payable to Silverdale Baptist Academy. Conference payment will be accepted by mail in advance or in person at the event.
