What is Truth?

October 02, 2018

One of the most underrated constants in all of reality is the truth.  How beautiful is the truth?  It gives our lives stability by providing a measuring stick to know whether or not something is accurate.  It isn't dependent upon our opinion of it, so it doesn't change with the whims of humanity.  The truth is the truth, whether we ascribe to it or not.  That may seem inconsequential, but it is actually one of the most important factors in our lives.  How do we not float into space?  Because gravity is true, even if someone doesn't believe it is true.  How do we know we've gotten correct change back at the grocery store?  Because the laws of mathematics are true and they do not change.

The truth is vitally important not just for our present lives but also for our eternal destination.  It is true that Jesus is the Messiah whether people believe it or not.  He validated that by rising from the dead.  In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."  What an amazing passage!  Not only is Jesus the way to Heaven, but truth exists because it emanates from Him!  Another one of God's characteristics is He is immutable, which means He doesn't change.  Therefore, the reason truth doesn't change is because it emanates from the One who does not change.

We all should be thankful to have such a solid foundation to govern all of reality and our experiences within it.
