Senior Night

dma_4767_1
band_wesley_corwineTonight, our seniors play their last regular season home game as Seahawks as they host regional rival Boyd Buchanan. 12 football players, 1 cheerleader, 1 hydration specialist, and 1 band member make up 15 seniors representing Seahawk Nation tonight. Thank you for all your hard work, dedication, and leadership as you make it to this night. Congratulations seniors!

Open House

This Tuesday, November 1st from 6:30-8 pm is our Open House for prospective families. We have advertised on the radio and in print but we all know that “word of mouth” advertising is paramount to any endeavor. Will you help us in promoting our Open House? For prospective families: All our faculty and staff will be on hand to answer any questions. There will be refreshments, and even a gift for the family. We appreciate your help and as an added bonus, if you refer someone to the Open House and if when they register they place your name on the “referred by” section, your child can have a dress down day the following week. Thank you again for partnering with us. We are blessed to have you in our Silverdale community.

Our keynote speaker for this year’s event will be United States Marine Corps Colonel Lance Maffett, Retired. To read his bio, click here. We hope you’ll make plans to join us for what will be one of the most powerful events we host all year.

From the Head of School

HansardProfile Family and Friends of the Academy: Do you have an old truck that you would like to donate to Silverdale Baptist Academy?  You would be helping us out greatly, and you can count the donation as a tax deduction for your home or business. We currently have a truck that was donated over 10 years ago and while we have taken great care of it, it is simply worn out.  We can no longer use it anywhere other than our campus.  We use this truck daily. Please contact Chris Neighbors at 892-2319 extension 2223 if you would like to contribute.  We appreciate how supportive our families continue to be. Blessings, Becky Hansard Head of School

New Alumni Outreach Efforts

alumni-fb

Following Fall Break, our Development Team met with Silverdale alumni who are currently on staff at Silverdale to brainstorm ways to take alumni engagement to the next level. Those alumni include Evan Pierce ('03), Ginger Pierce ('03), Courtney McDonald ('09), Tori Willcutt ('09), Slater Belew ('09), and Zach Capehart ('11). After some quality discussion and plans to begin forming a proper Alumni Association, it was decided that a Silverdale Alumni Facebook Group would be formed to begin reconnecting with our alumni base on social media. Having been live for just a fwe days, we already have over 250 members, including 1 of the 3 from our very first graduating class of 2001! If you're an alum or know any, please pass the word and have them join! The (closed) group for alumni can be found by clicking here.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer WalkPrint

We're just one week away from partnering with the American Cancer Society for their annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk! We will be sponsoring a team for this life-changing walk and would love the support from as many of our Silverdale families as possible. Click here to register as a team member. Saving lives from breast cancer starts one team, one walker, and one dollar at a time. We know that the American Cancer Society is the leader in the fight to end breast cancer. We know that supporting them will ensure that if you need someone to talk to anytime of the day or night, they’ll be there. If your friend is losing her hair from chemo, your mother needs a ride to treatment, or a loved one needs a place to stay when treatment is far from home, they will be there to help. The walk will be Sunday, November 6th at Finley Stadium. Registration begins at 12pm and the walk begins at 2pm.  If you would like to order a #TeamSilverdale shirt, please click here. We appreciate your partnership with us and hope to see you at the walk. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Development Office by email or via phone: (423) 892-2319 ext. 2224.
