Praise Band Invited To Lead Worship At CCS

DMA_7818The high school praise band was invited to lead worship yesterday at Chattanooga Christian School's middle school and high school chapel services. It was a beautiful time of worship as our band led out with their peers and fellow believers here in the Tennessee Valley. The band's director Mr. Humphries accompanied the group on his hammered dulcimer, and shared a brief message with the CCS student body. What a neat opportunity to join together in worship with another Christian school! You can view all photos from the services here: https://silverdaleba.smugmug.com/Events/20152016/Praise-Band-at-CCS

STOPit Anti-Bullying App Adopted

higher ed page phones side image

stopit_logo_large By now, you should have heard the exciting news that our school has enrolled with STOPit!  STOPit is an online reporting tool designed to deter and mitigate bullying and cyber abuse, consisting of an app and a backend incident management system for school administrators. Our 5th - 12th grade students will have access to the STOPit mobile app, which has two simple but powerful features:

Report can be used by students to report incidents to school contacts (anonymously, if the student so chooses) and/or to trusted contacts the student selects.

Get Help can be used to engage in two-way communication with school contacts or to access a 24/7, 365 talk-or-text Crisis Center.

Both Report and Get Help empower students to stand up for themselves and for one another. Students have the power to help put an end to harmful and inappropriate behavior they see online through social media and other means. They can use STOPit to reach out for help if they or a peer are facing a personal crisis or experiencing bullying, abuse, or are otherwise in need of assistance. Our goal with STOPit is to create a safer, kinder school community, both online and off.To use the STOPit platform, only a limited amount of student information will be needed, including the student’s name and student ID. No additional personally identifiable information will be required, although students may choose to share more when they use STOPit.
Both our school and STOPit are committed to protecting the privacy of student data. STOPit is a signatory to the Student Privacy Pledge, spearheaded by the Future of Privacy Forum and the Software & Information Industry Association, and endorsed by President Obama. You should also review STOPit’s Privacy Policy for details, including more information on how anonymous reporting works.
