Elementary Jewish Art Festival

[gallery ids="3445,3446,3447,3448" link="none" orderby="rand"] The elementary students took part in their annual Art Festival Thursday, with a Jewish theme to this year's event. Students took part in a Seder in their classrooms, visited a fisherman, carpenter, and other tradespeople of the period, participated in a fact-filled lecture from Dr. Sharpe, and got up close and personal with animals in the Critter Corral!

High School Drama Production: Snow White

Friday and Saturday, April 15-16, 2016 at the Catoosa County Colonnade. Admission $7. We hope to see you there supporting our students in their final drama production of the school year! Tickets will be available beginning Tuesday, April 5th at Mrs. Rizzo's desk.

What Is PTF?

Our Parent Teacher Fellowship was established early in our tenure as a school for several reasons:

• To establish a fellowship between home and school.
• To provide a place for families, teachers, and staff to partner together in the education and student life of their child.
• To provide a channel through which the physical and financial needs of the school can be made known and through which the members and friends can help in supplying those needs.

As an organization, we run two fundraisers per year, which support our efforts as an organization. One fundraiser is the membership dues collected, and the other is the funds generated from monthly Spirit Days. Membership is voluntary, so the number of members varies per school year. What do we do with the funds?    

• Provide a back–to-school lunch for staff during fall In-Service.
• Help in funding and providing food for a back-to-school event for the upper school at Horn’s Creek and Camp Vesper Point. This allows the cost to be minimal to families and to the school. Parents also volunteer at these events to serve the food and snacks.
• Help in funding playground equipment.
• Help with Gala baskets that each homeroom provides.
• Provide the Christmas Shoppe for students to purchase reasonably priced Christmas gifts.
• Fund special requests from teachers and schools such as:
  • Heart-rate monitors for PE classes to aid in the Fitness/wellness initiative.
  • Water fountain attachments for hands free filling stations to be installed this spring, 2016.
  • Classroom wishes for classes for all schools from Preschool to High School.
• Provide Teacher Appreciation week events, gifts, and luncheon.
• Award a service scholarship for a deserving senior.
• Other items that are brought to us for consideration by the teachers or administrators.

• Young Southern Writers: Congratulations to this year's winners! 7th Grade - Avery Butterworth and Brooke Tin. 8th Grade - Gavin Cupp, McKinzie Marcus, and Lydia Mitchell.
• Carline Safety: For the safety of all students, students must be picked up at the designated carline entrance, entrance #4. Students may not wait for you on the couches. Please do not ask them to meet you any place other than the carline area. Thank you.

ATHLETICS:

• Middle School Cheerleading: Clinic:
  • Monday, April 4 - 3:30-5:30pm (mandatory parent meeting immediately following)
  • Tuesday, April 5 - 3:30-5:00pm
  • Thursday, April 7 - 3:30-5:30pm
  Tryouts: Friday, April 8 - 3:30-? **All dates are mandatory** For more information, see Coach Bates or send her an email.
• High School Golf Tryouts: Girls and boys interested in trying out for varsity High School golf will meet at Bear Trace Harrison Bay, April 4^th  at 3:45pm. Be prepared to practice and play. Tryouts and practice will resume the following Monday April 11^th, 12^th and 14^th at Bear Trace Harrison Bay at 3:45pm. If you cannot make the tryouts because you are participating with another Silverdale team, please notify Golf Coach Michael Bales at 423-242-3553.
• High School Cheerleading Tryouts: April 11-13th, 2016, 3:30-5:00pm in the Upper Gym. Tryout packets are available in the Athletics Office (see Tim Couch). Parent Information Meeting - April 5th at 6:30pm in Room 210,
