New Website, New Silverdale Scoop!

With the new year comes a brand new, scratch-built website for Silverdale Baptist Academy! Take a look around at the beautiful new silverdaleba.org, which is now a fully responsive site that scales itself to fit whichever device you're using at the time, from desktop to mobile and everything in between. Included in the new site is a blog function that will serve as the new home of the Silverdale Scoop. If you're subscribed to the current Scoop, you'll want to visit the new site and Scoop location to subscribe again. The Scoop will still come to your inbox each time the newsletter is published, so you won't have to worry about anything new in the process. Should you have any trouble, contact Daniel Ashworth, Director of Communications.

Operation Orchard Follow-Up

In its 6th year, Silverdale's FCA Operation Orchard toy drive for the students of Orchard Knob Elementary School was a huge success, thanks to your generous donations! The day after the successful sharing of Christmas between our students and theirs, we received this message from someone who observed the afternoon at Orchard Knob that day:

Hi!! I just wanted to send a quick message. I volunteer thru UNUM with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Today I went to Orchard Knob Elementary and as I entered the school I could tell there was something special going on. I went and picked up my fifth grade 'little' and she told me about Silverdale being there. As I walked thru the hall I saw Kindergarten students leaving the rooms with their new gifts and had tears in my eyes as I watched them light up. Each student was hugging their gift and some were showing the gift to each person that walked by and I heard one boy saying he had got the best car ever. This is such a special thing your school has done for those students and I am thankful I was able to witness this. I just wanted to say that this experience touched me today and I know those students are so happy for what your school has done for them!

From the Head of School

HansardProfile Family and Friends of the Academy: Do you have an old truck that you would like to donate to Silverdale Baptist Academy?  You would be helping us out greatly, and you can count the donation as a tax deduction for your home or business. We currently have a truck that was donated over 10 years ago and while we have taken great care of it, it is simply worn out.  We can no longer use it anywhere other than our campus.  We use this truck daily. Please contact Chris Neighbors at 892-2319 extension 2223 or by email if you would like to contribute.  We appreciate how supportive our families continue to be. Blessings, Becky Hansard Head of School

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

MIDDLE SCHOOL

  • From the desk of Mrs. McCoy...
A new year is always fun because we sort of get a new beginning.  In education, it is always fun to begin a new semester.  As a believer, it is always fun to see what the Lord has planned for the next season.  SBA is such a good place to see God at work in our lives, our student’s lives and in our school.  It is a blessing to be apart of HIS work here.

Since the break is over, I am confident that you too are looking forward to a new semester.  However, I hope that you enjoyed the time with your kids and family.  As you know we are experiencing J-Term right now and LOVE the variety of opportunities for students.  They talk about it for months.  We are also looking ahead at many events and activities in this semester.  There will be sports, plays, BOOST classes and so much more.  It is fun and fast paced.

It is enrollment and re-enrollment time too, and I want you to know that we are praying for families as they commit to Christian education for their children.  Having provided it for my 3 children, I know the rich benefit from your sacrifice.

Please commit to pray for our students and teachers as we move ahead.  Our students will learn, mature and grow in class this semester, but my heart’s desire is that they will grow in their walk with Christ.  That is ultimately what we are all about, and we get to pursue that while educating them in class.  It is such a blessing to be apart of the SBA family!
